Internal Audits

Auditing management systems ensures effective performance and identifies where improvements exist. 

This is a practical two-day course providing the knowledge and confidence needed to complete effective internal audits.

• Understand ISO standards and their requirements
• Managing an audit
• Conducting opening and closing meetings
• Interviewing staff
• Collecting objective information
• Relating findings to a standard
• Preparing reports that help management improve systems and performance

Course Foundation

ISO 9011:2026 - Guidelines for auditing management systems. The principles apply equally to any management systems standard and examples and case studies to illustrate this are used throughout the course.

This course covers the general requirements of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001. 

Course prerequisite
A good working knowledge of the standard to be audited is preferred, but not essential for all students of this course.

Standards could include:

• ISO 9001:2026 Quality management systems – Requirements of the updated standard version
• ISO 14001:2026 Environmental management systems – Specifications with guidance for use
• ISO 45001:2018 Occupational health and safety management systems – Specifications with guidance for use
• ISO 19011:2026 Guidelines for auditing management systems

Exemplar Global Certification

Upon successful completion of the course, participants will gain an internationally recognised Exemplar Global certificate of competence. The competency units for this course are IA, QM, EM, and HS.
